The band Judd Hoos will be rocking Columbus from the stage of Little Bo's on both Friday and Saturday nights this weekend.
Bob Zwart e of Sioux Falls , SD., lead vocalist and former Zwarte band member, enjoys playing in smaller communities and looks forward to the band's stop in Columbus .
"We're gonna pack (Little Bo's) and have a blast," Zwarte said.
The band's focus of giving an excellent live performance has given Judd Hoos some Midwest notoriety.
"We're pros, it's not a second-rate show. It's infectious for the eyes and ears," Zwarte said.
Approximately one year ago, two Zwate band members, Bob Zwart e and bass guitarist Chris Hornick, joined with couple of Stones Throw band members of Rapid City , S.D. , drummer Shane Funk and guitarist Drew Lerdal , to form Judd Hoos . The departing musicians all had one thing in common, looking for something different.
"Everybody needed a change," Zwarte said.
With the four band members living several hundred miles apart, dedication is necessary in order for the group to tour successfully.
"Every weekend we've been staying busy, but we're up for the demand and willing to do what it takes," Zwarte said.
Judd Hoos is gaining a Midwest momentum that enables the band to stay enthused and continue to perform live.
"The feedback has been over the top. I know what we've got is unique," Zwarte said.
According to the Web site juddhoos.com, the band blends a variety of cover material with a number of originals. The group covers everything from Audioslave and Foo Fighters to Aerosmith and Nirvana. Judd Hoos ' original material includes the songs "Just Because" and "Heather." The band plans to release its album this spring.
Tickets are $5 and are available at Little Bo's. |
