The Judd Hoos Band is performing in Madison this weekend.

The Band includes tow former members of Zwarte ( Bob Zwart and Chris Hornick) and two former members of Stone's Throw ( Shane Funk and Drew Lerdal ).

The band will play at Teezers (formerly Milo 's) on Friday. The band played last summer at Milo 's to a packed audience in what was one of the first bookings for the band. The four members came together last summer.

Zwart, of Sioux Falls , provides the vocals for the band, while Hornick, of Spearfish, adds the bass. Funk, a Littleton , Colo. Native is the drummer and Lerdal plays guitar.

Zwart, originally from Dell Rapids, said that since coming together, "it's been going phenomenal. This band has had zero trouble getting dates."

The Judd Hoos Band has been booked throughout the Midwest , he said, and is in the process of recording and album, which they hope to release by August.

"Their work ethic is incredible," Zwart said. "They show up and work every week."

The band features a wide variety of rock music, Zwart said. "We play everything from (Led) Zeppelin to Cheryl Crow."

They also feature music unique to the band including "Just Becasuse" and "Heather".

Another area booking will be in Trent on Feb. 12, Zwart said, where the band is playing for a fundraiser for the Trent Swimming Pool Organization. Additional performances can be found at www.juddhoos.com.
